C1.) Answer the following questions in one or two sentences each :
 
1.) What suggestion did Nagappa give Rajappa to keep his money safe?

Answer: Nagappa suggested Rajappa to dig a pit beneath the Banyan tree near the temple and bury the money in it and keep something to identify the spot.
 
2.) When did Rajappa realize that his money was stolen?
Answer: When Rajappa came back from pilgrimage he went to the banyan tree after dusk and dug the place. He didn’t find the hundred silver coins. He dug around but could not find the coins then he concluded that someone had cleverly removed the coins from where he had kept it.
 
3.) “Do as I tell you.”
a.) Who does ‘I’ refer to?

Answer: ‘I’ refer to the village chief.
 
b.) Who was this said to?
Answer: This is said to Rajappa.
 
c.) When was this said?
Answer: This is said when Rajappa went village chief and reported the matter to the village chief.
 
4.) How did the stolen money return to its hidden place?
Answer: As village chief said Rajappa went to Nagappa and told him that he have one thousand coins and he want to keep at the hidden place and asked for help to spot the place. Nagappa thought that he will keep the one hundred coins at the place he taken and when Rajappa will keep one thousand coins he will take it. Thus the stolen money returned to its hidden place.
 
5.) Why did Nagappa grow impatient with Rajappa? What did he do?
Answer: Rajappa supposed to meet Nagappa to spot a place to bury coins but he did not came so Nagappa grow impatient with Rajappa and he went to Rajappa so ask why didn’t he came to bury coins.
 
C2.) Answer the following questions in three or four sentences :
 
1.) What kind of people were Nagappa and Rajappa?

Answer: Nagappa was stingy hoarder of money and Rajappa was very generous person.
 
2.) What was Rajappa’s reply to Nagappa?

Answer: When Rajappa returned from pilgrimage Nagappa asked him about his journey the Rajappa replied that everything was well. And fortunately, he possessed around a thousand coins. Rajappa also asked help to bury one thousand coins.
 
3.) Did Rajappa succeed in teaching his friend a good lesson? How?
Answer: Yes, Rajappa succeed in teaching his friend a good lesson. When Rajappa came to know that somebody stolen his money then Rajappa went to the village chief and as village chief suggested Rajappa went to Nagappa and ask him help to bury one thousand coins more so, Nagappa who stolen money one hundred coins kept it back and thought that he will steal a thousand coins. But Rajappa didn’t go to bury one thousand coins thus he taught a lesson to his friend.
