1.) Describe Berunda.

Answer: A Berunda was bird, he was big and strange bird living on the banks of a Sangama Lake. He was having two heads and single body.
 
2.) Describe the first head’s decision.
Answer: The first head found fruit which was delicious as ambrosia and took a bite of the food and mumbled, “Oh! What a fruit, I am sure the heavens have sent it for me. I am so lucky.” And when the second head said, “Oh brother, let me also taste the fruit you are praising so much.” Then the first head laughed and said, “Both of us have the same stomach, it makes no difference whether I eat or you it. I shall give it to our beloved. She will be very happy.” And the first head decided to share fruit with his wife that the first head.
 
3.) Why was the second head disappointed at the first head’s decision?
Answer: The first head found a fruit delicious as ambrosia and when the first head took a bite and praised hence the second head asked for a bite too then the first head denied and shared the fruit with his wife. Because of the decision of the first head second head disappointed.
 
4.) How did the second head have its revenge?
Answer: One day second head found a fruit, the fruit was poisonous and the second head said to first head, “You treacherous fellow! For what you have done to me, I will eat this poisonous fruit and avenge your insult.” And the second head ate the poisonous fruit and they both died.

1.) Describe how Berunda met his demise.

Answer: Berunda was a strange bird with one body and two heads. Once the first head found a fruit which was delicious as ambrosia but when the second head asked for the fruit then the first head denied and gave the fruit to his wife. Second head decided to take revenge and he found poisonous food and said to first head that he is going to eat the poisonous fruit and avenge insult. And second head ate poisonous fruit and both of them died.
 
2.) Describe how heeding his mother’s advice saves Brahmadatta.
Answer: Brahmadatta was living in a city Varanavarta with his old mother. One day he was planning to travel to another village so his mother advised him to take a companion with. Brahmadatta said that the village is safe. But the mother went to backyard and took a crab from the well and gave it to Brahmadatta as companion. During the journey when the Brahmadatta was resting under a big tree, from the hollow of the tree, a snake came out and attracted by the fragrance of camphor, the snake swallowed the box containing the crab. But the crab came out of the box and killed the snake. Thus, the crab saved Brahmadatta’s life.
