BENJAMIN JONES GOES SWIMMING

Comprehension:

I.) Answer the following questions in two or three sentences each:
 
1.) What did Benjamin inform his wife?
Answer: Benjamin informed his wife that he is participating in a swimming competition and he is sure that he will win the competition.
 
2.) Why did Benjamin’s wife discourage him?
Answer: Benjamin’s wife discouraged him because Benjamin didn’t practiced from years and other will be fast hence Benjamin’s wife told him that sure to be last.
 
3.) How did Benjamin win the swimming competition?
Answer: While swimming Benjamin saw a crab and Benjamin scared to a crab and with the fear of crab bite, he swam fast and won the swimming competition by chance.
 
4.) What do you learn from this poem?
Answer: Sometimes we win by luck.

Answer: When Benjamin tells his wife that he is participating in a swimming competition then his wife tells hem that he hasn’t swum since years and other competitors will be well trained and fast so be sure that he will be last.
 
b.) His pace was so slow that a crab saw his toe and thought it would venture a bite.
Answer: Benjamin was swimming very slow in the competition due to lack of practice and the crab in the water saw the toe of Benjamin and thought that it would venture a bite and Benjamin noticed that and to escape from the crab Benjamin swam fast and won the competition.
 
c.) She fell in the lake with a splash.
Answer: Benjamin’s wife was sure that Benjamin will not win the competition but he swum fast and won the competition and Benjamin’s wife was shocked due to his performance and fell into the lake with a splash.

8.) Benjamin won the race as possessed swimmer.
9.) His wife fell into the water because she shocked by the winning of Benjamin.
