Comprehension :

Answer the following questions :

1.) What makes the boy look funny?
Answer: The boy’s trousers gave him a curious look of being shorn off with sheep shears. There was always mud on his boots and there were times when he did not smell very sweet. These things made the boy look funny.
 
2.) Where are goats kept?
Answer: The goats are kept in the pigsty.
 
3.) What first made the man and his wife become aware of the smell of the goat kid and the boy?
Answer: The clergyman was talking about grace of giving. He also told about the frankincense and myrrh brought by the people. When the clergyman said that what the boy had brought had sweet smell it was the smell of sacrifice for others. It was then the man and his wife become aware of the smell of the goat kid and the boy.
 
4.) Why was the boy troubled by the absence of snow on the ground?
Answer: The boy always believed that Christmas meant snow on the ground, bells ringing and a moving star. He saw that there was no snow on the ground, no bells ringing and it was then he was troubled.
 
5.) Explain the message written on the notice board.
Answer: The message written on the notice board meant that no gift was too big or too small. Every type of gift was accepted. Everyone should donate.
