1.) Who is the speaker in the poem?

Answer: A child is the speaker in the poem.

2.) What does the child want the father to write about?
Answer:  The child wants the father to write stories about the giants and fairies and princesses.

3.) The father forgets to have his bath and food. Why does this happen?
Answer: The father forgets to have his bath and food because he is busy writing all the time.

4.) Why does the mother keep scolding the child?

Answer: The mother keeps scolding the child because she thinks that the child might disturb his father and spoil his sheets.

5.) When does the mother get cross with the child?
Answer: When the child takes up father’s pen or pencil and writes alphabet on in then his mother gets cross with the child.

6.) The father wastes heaps of paper but the mother keeps quiet but scolds the child when he takes one sheet to make a boat. Why is that?

Answer: The child is innocent and doesn’t that his father is writing something serious. But he complains that when he takes one sheet to make a boat then his mother scolds so he gets confused that unlike his father he doesn’t waste heaps of paper yet he gets scolded.

7.) Is the mother right in suppressing the enthusiasm of the child?
Answer: No, the mother isn’t right in suppressing the enthusiasm of the child but she actually wants to teach her child to save paper and know importance of it at young age.
