C1.) Read the play silently. With your friend, find and discuss the answers to the following questions.
1.) Why was the group looking for a shelter?
Answer: The group was looking for a shelter because it was raining.

Answer: The village was three miles away from the place where the group was living in.
3.) Why did Mr. Hunt hesitate to seek shelter in the house?
Answer: Mr. Hunt hesitated to seek shelter in the house because he thought that it was a lonely place to live.

Answer: Glen smashed the control panel and both the boys ran from the back door.
C2.) Work in pairs and answer the following questions. Compare your answers with those written by others.
1.) What circumstances forced the party to take shelter in the spaceship?
Answer: The party was completely wet due to the rain and this made them take shelter in the spaceship.
2.) List the things that made the children feel uncomfortable in the kitchen.
Answer: Everything in the kitchen was quite unusual. There was not washing-up machine, pots, plates and pAnswer: Even there was nothing in the fridge and the lights were off.
3.) Why couldn’t the children escape either through the backdoor or the window?
Answer: The children couldn’t escape either through the backdoor or the window because both had burglar proof lock.

Answer: There was no washing-up machine, pots, plates and pAnswer: The cupboard was empty. The fridge had nothing and didn’t have lights. It was not even working. There were electronic equipments in the cupboard.

Answer: They talk sounded like hissing and clicking at each other.

Answer: The children tried to open the backdoor but couldn’t. Wayne tried to break the glass with the stick. These were the different ways in which the children tried to get out of the house.
C3.) Discuss in groups and answer the following questions.
Read out the answers to the class.
1.) What suspicion did the children have about the Browns and their ‘house’? What convincing reasons did Mrs. Brown come up with?
Answer: The children found everything about the house especially the kitchen very unusual. There was no washing-up machine, pots, plates and pAnswer: The fridge had no lights and nothing in it. It didn’t work. There were electric equipments in the cupboard which was very odd. Mrs. Brown came up with the reason that they had recently moved there and didn’t have enough time to sort out the things out.
2.) How did Pete become instrumental in saving the teachers and his mates?
Answer: When the children realized that Mr. and Mrs. Brown were not humans but aliens they tried very hard to escape from there. When Pete questioned about the door and other things Mrs. Brown gave excuse which made them clear about their doubts. Pete asked Glen to take the stick and smash the control panel. It was Pete who pressed the control and opened the door. He and Glen rushed out of the back door fast and this is how he could save lives.
